Floragard Living Greens and Palm Soil is a ready-made special soil for growing and transplanting palms and other long-lived greens.
Organic natural fertilizer manure provides nutrients to plants efficiently and long-term and activates soil life naturally. Clay particles provide the soil with a long-term stable structure and ensure optimal air and water circulation. The root system can develop optimally.
Through active fertilizer accumulation, plants can receive optimal nutrient supply for up to 3 months. No additional fertilization is required.
Transplant your plant in spring or autumn into a larger container approximately 2-4 cm larger.
Soak earthenware or terracotta pots for 1 to 2 hours before first use to prevent them from absorbing moisture from their roots in the future. Cover the drainage holes in the bottom of the plant container with ceramic shards to prevent clogging. Pour a drainage layer such as Floragard Tongranulat, then add a layer of Floragard Active Greens and Palm Soil.
Before pulling out the plant, clear away any dead above-ground parts and gently remove the plant from its old container - preferably without damaging the root system. Remove as much old soil as possible from the root system, loosen the root system easily, and prune off diseased roots.
Now place the plant into the new container and fill it with Floragard Active Greens and Palm Soil from all directions. The plant should be at the same level as the soil in the old pot and, if possible, should have no leaves in direct contact with the soil. When the plant is right, gently pressurize the soil around it and irrigate it all at once until the water comes out of the bottom so that the entire soil is filled with moisture.
The soil has been pre-fertilized for about 6 weeks. This should be followed by supplemental fertilization. Do not fertilize during fall and winter.
